lion, ivoted, me, sadie
I can't find my glasses. I took out my contacts and wanted to finish this episode of Law & Order but I can't find my glasses. I'm about four inches from this screen right now and I'm still squinting. But this weekend I have a doctor's appt for NEW glasses, so even if I can't find my old one, I will have new ones! Yeah, but not immediately, I know. But before the end of April.

Stevia is crap. Let's say you have digestive issues with fake sugar (Splenda, Equal, etc) and you have a recipe that CALLS FOR Splenda, and you're all, ick, and someone tells you, "omg, use Stevia! It's all natural!" Don't use Stevia. It may be all natural, but it tastes just like nutra-sweet, except chalkier.

What am I going to do with 42 subscriptions to vibe packets of stevia?

(This is super random, but I did have you friended before this week, right? Cause I know I've been reading your entries, but I looked at my main page and it said you weren't friended back. So I friended you back. But I was so sure I'd already done that... Did I?)

You know, I thought I had seen your entries on my FL, but I just checked your journal, and there's a whole lot there I hadn't seen. So maybe there was a glitch in the matrix? But I'm there now, thanks!

can you handle *real* sugar?

and have you tried using agave?

I have not tried agave! So I'll try that. And I thought stevia sounded ideal because I thought it would be less sweet--I'm not a huuuuge sugar fan, though I know it has its place. (I mean, I'm all for cookies. But not too sweet, please!)

I actually am not that good at handling real sugar, either. I don't know if it's because I don't like it or because it doesn't like me.

yeah, agave has a super low glycemic index, so it's good for diabetics and also just people who don't want to get all sugar crazy. generally, you use about 1/4-1/3 of a cup to replace 1 cup of sugar. i like it. i'm not going to lie, i still use sugar in many things [i tend to use brown, though, 'cause i like that carmel-y thing], but i've been using more and more agave lately. i even made chocolate blueberry sorbet with it at work the other day, and it was so wicked awesome it's going on the menu now! wee!

I like Stevia, personally, but yeah, it's got a taste that's not sugar.
Maybe hide it in the little sweet packet bowls in restaurants...? :P
